- Mediante el uso de “more” y the “most”
Sweet- sweeter- the sweetest. This cake is sweeter than the other one.
Clever-cleverer-the cleverest. My brother is cleverer than his friend, bur he work less.
Narrow-narrower-the narrowest That street in Rome was the narrowest I´ve ever seen.
Simple-simpler-the simplest The simplest things in life are the most important.
Lucky-luckier-the luckiest. Sally is the luckiest person I´ve ever met.
Funny-funnier-the funniest. Jack is funnier than his brother.
Happy- happier- the happiest. Smiling everyday makes you happier.
B. Los adjetivos de tres o más sílabas forman el comparativo con “more” y el superlativo con the “most”.
Interesting- more interesting- the most interesting. I find reading more interesting than watching T.V.
C. Comparaciones irregulares, cambian la raíz:
Good- better-the best. I know him better than you do
Bad/ill – worse-the worst It´s the worst hotel I´ve ever stayed in.
Much/many- more-the most She exercises more than she used to.
Little- less- the least We´got less time than I thought.
Old-older-the oldest He looks older than he really is with that beard.
Que= than
Busy- less busy- the least busy. I´ve been less busy this weekend than usually
Ambitious- less ambitious- the least ambitious Peter is the least ambitious person in the company.
Que= than
John is as tall as his brother.
